What is Lokta paper and why is it special?

Lokta paper is a unique, tree-free writing material made from the bark of the Lokta shrub, which grows in the Himalayas. It's known for its beautiful natural texture, surprising durability, eco-friendliness, and biodegradability. It also supports traditional craftspeople.

Is Lokta paper durable enough for mailing?

Yes, Lokta paper is surprisingly durable and strong enough for regular mailing without needing an extra protective sleeve. In fact, it's been prized for centuries for it's strength, tear resistance and archival qualities.

What kind of pens are best for writing on Lokta paper notecards?

Lokta paper takes most pens well, including ballpoint, gel, and fine-tip markers. For a smoother writing experience, we recommend gel pens or rollerball pens. Standard ink pens can also be used, but heavier ink may take a moment longer to dry due to the paper's natural absorbency.
