Branding With The Experts - Using Wax Seals For An Extra Special Finishing Touch

For some time, we've had the privilege of working with master perfumiers Jo Malone London.  For some time, these experts in branding have used wax seals to add a special finishing touch to their campaigns.

It's always exciting to see how our products are used.  So in Summer 2024 we decided to visit their Belfast store to see how our sealing wax was being used.  Needless to say we were blown away and realised that we were only a tiny (but pretty special) part of a very well planned limited edition product launch. 

Who would have though Paddington Bear could be linked to a very sophisticated perfume?  But Jo Malone London definitely pulled it off!!  Their Orange Marmalade perfume has definitely become one of my firm favourites .... I've even stocked up on an extra bottle!

As you might have guessed, the campaign was based around Paddington Bears love of Orange Marmalade.  Themed boxes, bags, labels and ribbons were all designed to compliment the theme.  We especially love the little toggle button band that was designed to seal the perfume boxes.

Here's where it got exciting for us ..... to compliment the campaign, we were asked to produce a specific colour wax using a pantone reference provided by Jo Malone London.  The wax was to be used to make pawprint wax seals on the boxes.  What an amazing finishing touch!!  To see the final results was super special.

Something we hadn't previously realised is that Jo Malone London are constantly striving to be more sustainable.  As of March 2022, more than 90% of their packaging is FSC-certified, designed with sustainability and recyclability in mind.  So their choice to use sealing waxes by The Natural Paper Company makes perfect sense.  All our waxes are plastic free, paraffin free and fully biodegradable.  They are made from only natural ingredients and so are the perfect compliment for sustainable packaging and branding.

Our store visit left us in awe of the amazing design skills of the team at Jo Malone London.  We feel very special to have played a little part in this (and previous) campaigns.  We've learned so many lessons.  Here's a few of the main one ...
1 - It's all about the detail ..... right down to the tiniest detail, Jo Malone London plans it's branding to precision.  

2 - Great branding gives you a feel good factor.  I, like most people, am a sucker for something that looks great.  Branding well helps to sell more.  
3 - People "Buy In" to things that look beautiful.
4 - Branding and Packaging are worth the thought and effort.  
So if you're planning a branding and marketing campaign; or looking for a special finishing touch for your packaging, learn for the experts.
