This Lumos Pro Duo sounds great for reducing waste! What kind of inks can I actually use in it, and what should I avoid?

That's a fantastic question and a core part of what makes the Lumos Pro Duo eco-friendly! You can use most fountain pen inks with it, and we recommend our own range of pigment inks as they are beautifully suited for smooth, long-lasting writing and drawing. However, it's best to steer clear of calligraphy inks because they contain acrylic binders that can clog the pen's fine feed. Also, really experimental inks with heavy shimmers or iridescence might not perform as well, so stick to more standard formulations for the best experience.

I'm an artist and love the idea of an artist pen that I can refill. Does the Lumos Pro Duo come with all the different tips for drawing, or do I need to buy those separately?

The Duo Lumos allows you to have two different pens in one body, allowing you to easily change between nibs and ink colours on either side.

What ink can I use?
The Lumos is compatible with all but the most experimental fountain pen inks (think shimmer + iridescent). We offer a beautiful range of pigment ink for fountain pens, which are perfect for the Lumos.

Note: Calligraphy Ink has an acrylic binder which will block the pen and is not suitable for use with The Lumos.
